Why Should I Distill My
Water?
A major health concern
today is toxins in our water. These powerful additives
are regularly
put in your water and foods as dictated by local and national governments. These
toxins include fluoride, chlorine, and other harmful
chemicals that may increase your risk of cancer, neurological diseases, and
lowering of I.Q's.
You can drastically decrease your risk of such problems by drinking pure, clean water.
Distilling your water solves this problem!
How Water Affects Your Health
History
supports that civilizations with clean water were
strong and healthy. For many of us, that is like a "duh" moment.
Of course they had clean water. Otherwise, how could they
thrive, right?
In fact, cosmetic and anti-aging
research supports that consumption of clean, pure water is a
primary anti-aging and health promoting thing that we can do for
oursevles.
Here's what consuming 8 glasses of
pure water per day can do for you:
- Improves your energy
- Can
reduce anxiety, stress, even depression
-
Reduces headaches and dizziness by de-toxifying your body
- Sharpens your mental and
physical performance
- Improves your skin’s
appearance and reduces wrinkles
- Helps relieve symptoms of
asthma, allergies and arthritis
-
When trying to loose weight, consumption of water often
alleviates "false hunger signals".
- According to a six year study
published in the May 1, 2002, American Journal of
Epidemiology, women who drank more than five
glasses of water a day were 41 percent less likely to die from
heart attack than those who drank less than two glasses. The
results were even greater for men.
Hydration
is mandatory for a human body to maintain normal physiological
and psychological
functions. But if you're drinking water full of toxins, you may
suffer decreased mental alertness, lower I.Q., cancers and
neurological disorders, as well as dental deficiencies.
Your body also requires water to break
down the fats that are filtered through your liver.
Here are a few of the things that
pure water does for your body:
-
Allows you to digest your food
- Helps
deliver oxygen to your cells
- Is
required for joint lubrication
-
Water is required to regulate the bodies temperature
functions
- Is
part of the elimination process to rid yourself of toxins
and wastes
- Is
required to generates cellular energy
-
Carries nutrients within
your body and helps the body absorb those nutrients
Obviously, if you don't drink enough
pure water, you will run into health issues. Have you ever
noticed, whether on TV shows or in real life, that one of the
first things done in many instances, is to insert an IV and
provide the patient with sterile fluids?
Water is indeed the gift of life.
And although, in this country, local water departments attempt
to provide us with clean, pure water, the single thing they
can't overcome is the age and disintegration of those water
delivery and processing systems. (as reported by NRDC.org)
Which Distiller is Right For Me?
Distilled water provides the cleanest, purest
water. For many years, faucet or pour through water filters have
provided a false sense of security to consumers. But these
filters do not filter out objectionable odors, and do not remove
common problems including copper, parasites, bacteria, virus's,
and more. Did you know that these filters can actually breed
bacteria in them? And when are you supposed to change those
filters?
Steam distillation of water,
as
produced by our stills,
is the best method to get clean,
pure water.
Out in nature, water evaporates,
condenses, and then falls back to earth is rain or show. Which
is great, as long as it falls through unpolluted air!
Distillation follows Mother Natures
process, separating the contaminates from the pure, fresh water.
A good quality distillation system provides water that
is up to 99 percent free of impurities, including heavy metals,
most chemicals, and biological contaminates. This is because of
the continuous boiler process used in distillation.
So You Think Bottled Water is
Safe?
The following information is from the NRDC.org
website FAQ's:
1. Isn't bottled
water safer than tap water?
No, not necessarily. NRDC conducted a
four-year review of the bottled water
industry and the safety standards that
govern it, including a comparison of
national bottled water rules with national
tap water rules, and independent testing of
over 1,000 bottles of water. Our conclusion
is that there is no assurance that just
because water comes out of a bottle it is
any cleaner or safer than water from the
tap. And in fact, an estimated 25 percent or
more of bottled
water is really just tap water in a
bottle -- sometimes further treated,
sometimes not.
2. Is bottled
water actually unsafe?
Most bottled water appears to be safe. Of
the bottles we tested, the majority proved
to be high quality and relatively free of
contaminants. The quality of some brands was
spotty, however, and such products may pose
a health risk, primarily for people with
weakened immune systems (such as the frail
elderly, some infants, transplant and cancer
patients, or people with HIV/AIDS). About 22
percent of the brands we tested contained,
in at least one sample, chemical
contaminants at levels above strict state
health limits. If consumed over a long
period of time, some of these contaminants
could cause cancer or other health problems.
3. Could the
plastic in water bottles pose a health risk?
Recent research suggests that there could be
cause for concern, and that the issue should
be studied closely. Studies have shown that
chemicals called phthalates, which are known
to disrupt testosterone and other hormones,
can leach into bottled water over time. One
study found that water that had been stored
for 10 weeks in plastic and in glass bottles
contained phthalates, suggesting that the
chemicals could be coming from the plastic
cap or liner. Although there are regulatory
standards limiting phthalates in tap water,
there are no legal limits for phthalates in
bottled water -- the bottled water industry
waged a successful campaign opposing the FDA
proposal to set a legal limit for these
chemicals. |
